Watch: Mehidy Hasan gifts Rohit Sharma special bat after Bangladesh Test series

Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz had a special gift for India captain Rohit Sharma after the completion of the 2-Test series on October 1, Tuesday. Mehidy had started a bat company named ‘MKS Sports’ alongside Imrul Kayes and his other friends last year. The all-rounder would then decide to give a gift to the Indian captain after the completion of the Test series.
Mehidy, in a video released by the MKS Sports Facebook page, said that he had always wanted to give a bat as a gift to Rohit. The Bangladesh all-rounder was visibly happy with the moment and expressed it as well.
“I am with Rohit bhai and I gifted him a bat from my company. I always wished to give him a bat and so I am very happy,” said Mehidy.
Rohit would also talk about the gift and said he knew Mehidy from a long time and hailed him as a very good cricketer. The India captain said he is proud to see the all-rounder start his own venture and wished Mehidy all success with the bat company.
“I know Mehidy from a long time. He is a very good cricketer. And I am very proud of him that he has started his own bat company along with some of his friends. I want to wish him all the best, May god give him all the success. And I hope this company will rise above everyone else,” said Rohit.
Mehidy did get the better of Rohit Sharma during the Kanpur Test. As India came out to bat in the first innings on Day 4, it was the all-rounder who was able to end the Indian captain’s rampaging knock and get him back into the pavilion. Thye Bangladesh all-rounder would then dismiss Rohit once again in the second innings, but India were well on course to winning the match, which they did in the end by 7 wickets.
Mehidy will now be part of the T20I series while Rohit will have a small break before the New Zealand series.
